Dan Daoust had a solid junior career before being signed as a free agent by Montreal in 1980. Daoust played a few games with the Canadiens, before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1982. Daoust was an immediate success in Toronto, scoring 51 points in 48 games in his first season there. Daoust relied on grit and hard work to compensate for his small stature, and became a fan favourite in Toronto in the 1980s. Dan Daoust finished his eight-year NHL career with 254 points and 544 PIMs in 522 games.
