Drafted by Montreal in 1993 after an incredibly successful junior career, he played for a season and a half with the Habs before being traded to Tampa Bay. A bright light on a struggling team, Tucker was then traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2000. On June 24, 2008, he became an unrestricted free agent after his former club, the Maple Leafs, bought out the remainder of his contract. On July 1, 2008, he signed a two-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche. On October 1, 2010, Tucker announced his retirement after 14 seasons in the NHL and became an NHL player agent. Tucker is known as an agitator who is often hated by opposing fans, yet truly beloved by the Leafs Nation.
