Luke Gazdic made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers on opening night of the 2013-2014 NHL season and scored his first goal 2 minutes into the first period, making it the first goal of the season for the Edmonton Oilers. After the 2015-2016 season, he left the Oilers as a free agent and signed a one-year, two-way deal with the New Jersey Devils for the 2016-2017 season. Gazdic went on to play in the AHL with Calgary Flames affiliate team, the Stockton Heat and the San Diego Gulls. He retired from professional hockey in June of 2021 and joined NHL on Sportsnet as an analyst in 2023.
