Rod Black has been a sports journalist for almost four decades. He has covered a wide range of sports, including multiple Olympics from 1992 to 2012, the CFL, the NBA, the MLB, golf, international hockey, curling, boxing, and was known as the voice of figure skating here in Canada.
Black can share his observations of sport and what he believes makes an athlete a champion. In 2005, he won the Sports Media Canada Award for Outstanding Broadcaster, and has received five Gemini Award nominations for Best Sports Broadcaster. Outside of the sports world, Black is a spokesperson for Plan Canada, and in 2013 was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his volunteer work.
