Born and raised in Thunder Bay Ontario, Taylor Pyatt had early success in Junior hockey earning First Team OHL All-Star while playing for the Sudbury Wolves.
He played three seasons in Sudbury and was drafted 8th overall in the ’99 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders. Taylor spent his rookie season with the Islanders as a 19-year-old and was traded to Buffalo after the season. He spent four years in Buffalo plus one year in Sweden during the lockout before moving onto Vancouver and his best offensive output. Career highs in goals, assists and points were the highlight of three seasons with the Canucks. Taylor would also play for Phoenix, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh and finished a great career playing with his brother Tom in the Swiss league. Taylor’s regular season and playoff totals were 928 GP, 150 Goals and 304 points.
