Zenon Konopka played for the Ottawa 67’s in the OHL scoring 185 points during his four years with the club before turning pro. After four seasons in the OHL, Konopka split his 2002-03 season with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers. In the summer of 2004, Konopka signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and went on to suit up for the club’s AHL affiliate in Cincinnati for the 2004-05 season. After a full season in the AHL, Konopka went on to make his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2005-06, while spending most of the season in the AHL with the Portland Pirates. Zenon would also play for the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild and the Buffalo Sabres. Konopka established himself as one of the NHL’s best and most willing enforcers ending his career with over 1000 penalty minutes.
